If you’re using a cold air intake, cat-back exhaust, or tuner on your 2011–2014 Mustang 3.7L, these 1-7/8” shorty headers from Flowtech are the upgrade you need to take your ride to the next level.

Providing a terrific combination of quality and value, these headers offer consistent tubing diameters, smooth flow, and increased exhaust velocity thanks to mandrel-bent 409 stainless steel (or 304 SS) set in heavy-duty, 16-gauge tubing. In addition, the 1-7/8” diameter primary tubes offer improved throttle response. Premium aluminum gasket headers are included, and three finishes are available: Natural (12140FLT; 409 SS), Polished (12141FLT; 304 SS), and Silver Ceramic (32141FLT; 409 SS).

Design Engineering, Inc., recently released two new products—a Jeep Header Wrap Kit and additional thicknesses for the company’s Boom Mat—sure to please performance enthusiasts looking for the best finishing touches for their rides.

First up, DEI’s Jeep Header Wrap Kit, is designed to prevent plug wire and boot melting when installing shorty headers on your 2007–2011 Jeep JK V6. The kit has everything you need for a typical set of shorty headers:

  • Two 25’ rolls of Titanium Exhaust Wrap
  • Eight 9” stainless positive locking ties
  • Four 14” stainless positive locking ties
  • Six 8” Titanium Spark Plug Boots

The American-made components withstand temperatures up to 1,350 degrees and resist many hazards of the engine bay, including solvents, oils, fuel, acids, and chemical spills.

Next are two new thicknesses for DEI’s Boom Mat, which dampens sound on the most extreme commercial and sound-competition applications. The new 2mm (33% thicker) and 4mm (166% thicker) versions combine aluminum-stiffened top skins with asphalt-free, pure-butyl, noise-constraining layers to control noise generated by vibrating interior panels—including in the most high-temperature situations.
