Coming at the end of March from Mr. Gasket are updated Easy-Flow Air Cleaners, which have been given a fresh look with powder-coated finishes and optional high-performance, preoiled, washable filter elements. These elements enable more airflow than standard paper elements and are color-keyed to match the chosen exterior finish. Each Easy-Flow Air Cleaner kit includes the filter assembly/element, mounting stud, knurled nut, PCV/smog adapter, and required hardware.

Available in Flat Black, Orange, Blue, Silver Vein, or Traditional Chrome.

A K&N performance air intake system is designed to free up horsepower being lost to restrictive factory air inlet components. By replacing the stock enclosed air box, accordion hosing, and sound baffling, a K&N performance air intake system can reduce restriction, straighten airflow, and increase both horsepower and torque. K&N’s 2015 Ford Mustang Fastback V6 and 2015 Ford Mustang Convertible V6 air intake systems (69-3536TTK) replace these restrictive factory parts with a mandrel-bent aluminum air intake tube, finished in a flat black powdercoat and coupled to a high-flow washable and reusable K&N air filter. To Oil or Not to Oil: (That’s Not Really the Question)

Over the years, the air-filter experts at K&N have proven (in their in-house filtration test lab, no less) that the secret to increasing airflow to your engine without sacrificing protection lies in their exclusive air filter oil. This oil, which permeates a filter’s cotton fibers, grabs dust and other microscopic contaminants and keeps them from entering your system. Non-oiled paper filters don’t even come close.

So the question isn’t whether you should be using an oiled filter (you should); instead, you should be asking “How much should I use?” and “How do I apply it?” The answers to those questions depend on which delivery system you use: squeeze bottle or aerosol applicator. Read on for the scoop from K&N:

Apply the air filter oil evenly along the crown of each pleat, then allow the oil to wick for 20 minutes before touching up any light areas on either side of the filter.

Aerosol Bottle

Spray the oil evenly along the crown of each pleat, holding the spray nozzle about 3” away from the filter. Allow the oil to wick for 20 minutes, then touch up any light areas on either side of the filter.

Most K&N air filters are oiled at the factory, so reoiling shouldn’t be necessary until it’s time to clean your filter, usually at 50,000 or 100,000 miles, depending on your application. K&N’s Recharger kits contain everything you need to freshen up your filter, including filter cleaner and your choice of oil dispenser.

The 2014-2015 Chevy Corvette is a pretty remarkable machine fresh out of the factory: a 460-horsepower engine, capable of getting you up to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds, still manages to get you a respectable-for-the-pop 29 highway miles per gallon.
