Award. Hurt, who transitioned to AAM’s marketing team last year from PerformanceParts.com, has quickly become an integral part of AAM’s expanded suite of services, notably as email marketing lead and architect of the AAM Sign Shop™, which provides deeply discounted signage and display elements to program retailers and installers.

Given annually to the AAM Group™ employee who best exemplifies the qualities of commitment, creativity, initiative, and resourcefulness, the W.O.W. Kingsport Speedway Event Saw Ronnie McCarty Capture His Fourth Win of the Season

AAM Group™ President Tim Odom had the honor of dropping the green flag on the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series late model stock car event held Friday, August 12 in Kingsport, Tennessee. The race additionally honored the late Gene Glover, winner of the 1979 NASCAR Late Model Sportsman national championship and the all-time title holder at the Kingsport Speedway.

Odom, who waived the flag for NASCAR official and AAM Program Sales Manager Jerry Simpson, got the 18-car field going on Back to School night, which saw children receive NASCAR Acceleration Nation school supplies. Defending champion Ronnie McCarty outmaneuvered a game field in his #5 car to pick up his fourth win of the season, followed in the final standings by Zeke Shell, Robbie Ferguson, Wayne Hale, and Justin Fontaine.

“I had a blast dropping the flag,” said Odom. “It’s a great feeling to be that near a pack of high-powered cars getting up to speed. Jerry taught me a great deal about the role of a flag person in a race, and I gained a great appreciation for all that figure does to contribute to fair competition, safety, and a better experience for the fans.”

Agreement with Enterprise/National to Cut Travel Costs for AAM Affiliates

The AAM Group™, the largest program distribution group in the SEMA marketplace, has entered into an exclusive service agreement with Enterprise Holdings to provide preferred pricing on airport and local-market auto rentals at Enterprise Rent-A-Car and National Car Rental locations across the US and Canada. Effective July 1, 2016, this benefit applies to rentals made for both business and personal travel.

To claim this special rate, an individual associated with one of AAM’s three marketing programs (including member WD employees, sponsoring manufacturer employees, and program retailers and employees) will need a free Insight™ account; users can log in or apply at accounts.theaamgroup.com. Selecting the “Rental Car Discount” portal will reveal the AAM USA, Inc. account number, which users can reference when booking their rentals (choose National at airports and Enterprise for local service).

The benefits of this agreement are many, including a guaranteed low rate at airports (or the local market rate, whichever is lower), complimentary damage waiver insurance with no deductible, and a generous monthly cap of 3,000 miles at no additional charge. In addition, the rate extends to many classes of automobile, from passenger cars to fleet vehicles.

Trucks Also to Benefit SEMA Cares Charities through Pinewood Drag Race Event

The AAM Group™, the largest program distribution group in the SEMA marketplace, bought and built three pinewood derby trucks to benefit the SEMA Cares charitable organization. The trucks, each sponsored by one of AAM’s retail marketing programs, were raced alongside other entrants in the Pinewood Derby that was held directly before the SEMA Installation Banquet & Gala Fundraiser last Friday in Pomona, Calif.

In a special tie-in, AAM dedicated each of the trucks to one of this year’s three new SEMA Hall of Fame inductees: Matt Agosta, Chip Foose, and Gary Hooker. The truck numbers—07, 29, and 16—commemorated the date of the event. Agosta, Foose, and Hooker were on hand to run their trucks down the track, and were presented with them afterward to additionally recognize their contributions to the industry.

“AAM has long supported the SEMA Pinewood Derby and the charities it benefits,” said AAM President Tim Odom. “This year we saw a great opportunity to use our cars to further recognize some of our industry’s heroes on our cars, as the derby coincides with their recognition. We had a great deal of fun with the design and build and hope the cars added a little color to the event.”

Special Markets and Program Sales Manager Greg Griffith and his son, Adam, will be representing The AAM Group™ at the premiere 36 Hours of Uwharrie event being contested in Troy, North Carolina. Fans can follow the action on Twitter (#driverenough) and Facebook (/36uwharrie).

Starting today and running through August 14, the BFGoodrich-sponsored overland endurance event tests the skills of competitors as they attempt to negotiate difficult terrain, navigate to specific GPS coordinates, and complete a variety of skill-based objectives. These two-person challenges—which include canoeing, shooting, self-recovery winching, Hi-Lift Jacks, and more—earn points that can push participants through to the Final Assault. Prize packages include BFGoodrich tires, event-engraved firearms, and winches.
